hola! I'm sorry for not posting in awhile but my new home does not have Internet access...or hot water (brrr!) but what the house lacks in commodities it makes up for in kindness and coffee. I'm living with a 40 year old woman and her mother. They are so kind to me and they are some funny women. We all get along great! My entire extended family lives directly next to us. My uncle lives next door he has three kids (but they are away at school for now). Next to him is another uncle with a 14 year old daughter (we are becoming friends..she loves American music). My favorite extended family lives in the next house and it is my uncle and his wife with their 3 year old daughter named Alison. She and I are becoming best friends! She is so cute! The doors of the houses are always open and we all eat dinner together every night. Coffee is also a must in Costa Rica..we drink it three times a day. My favorite time of day is "cafecito" which happens around 3-5 in the afternoon. We all take a break from work an as a family drink coffee and eat a little snack. My host mom is a fabulous cook and we eat delicious (but healthy meals) every morning I eat fresh fruit such as mangos strawberries bananas etc. life is much more simple here but I am really enjoying my host family so far! The language barrier can be hard at times but I am already having a difficult time writing this blog in English because I'm so used to speaking in Spanish. I should be able to post updates at least every Wednesday because that is when I will have free Internet access.
